![]() ![]() So 4th playthrough, get to an Excalibur and slap it full with M6+ ships and see if those can survive battles without (ab)using missilesĬurrently this playthrough is at a stage of having 8 Argon reputatoin of the 10 required, but I do have 3 M7+ ships and just found the renamed Maccana M7C(Hayabusa) (I started to get bored once I actually had the production chain somewhat fleshed out in a sector and could crank out M7+ ships like no tomorrow, but this took me a while)Ī second playthrough was more focused on trading and experimenting with how much money the mining ships would get me.Īfter the 3rd playthrough I spend time screwing around in the game seeing if there was stuff I missed, which led me to find an Excelibur which can dock M6 ships So in LU I am at my 3rd or 4th playthrough now with the first one having as goal "learning LU and building an HQ which has the SCHx400 supply chain to build and equip M2+ battleships to be able to stand against the OCV How big did the rival company grow and did you experience the rival company sending out patrols to take down your assets?įor me for a game, or a playthrough in X3(LU) to be "fun", or enjoyable, or at least worth staring at the screen for, I have to either discover something I "want to do" in the game or be in need of just hanging out in space for the rest of the day.īut if I'm not in the mood, I can't play and I had to learn to read my own mood and plan it a bit in the days ahead in order to be able to play games in general, and X3 is one of the lower threshold ones in those cases as I have knowledge without requiring to think and it can be an escape to just hang about in space watching the world still live without me How did the OCV incursions progress for you and what did you do to stop them/reconquer their sectors? How did you go about making your first millions? How much knowledge did you have of the X3 game before starting LU?Ĭould you elaborate on what you did and what strategy you used? ![]() I really want to like this mod, lots of awesome ideas and features in it. Why has trading been made useless? Why combat so insanly slow and boring? Why this overpowered, infinite-money cheat Saturn Complex Hub? ![]() But after just one week, it is absolutly boring with a balance i just cant understand. I was drooling on my pants when i read the description. I didn' checked yet all original MD scripts of TC and AP from ES which of them may use the "standard congrat videos" - but a first check shows, that at least the AP MD scripts does not use the videos 819 to 822 - which will be a good base for my further work.Originally posted by Karlas:And i still don't know how to get hooked by it. Only the replacement of the 00819.dat in the TC/mov folder with my own version of 00819.dat brought my AP MD script to play my custom video. The next try was to delete the 00819.dat in the TC/mov (in the hope, that MD searches somehow all mov folders in a order) - no sucess again. But this didn' work either - it still plays the congrat video of the TC/mov folder. I renamed my video as 00819.dat and placed in in the add/mov folder ( in the hope, that the Mission director engine of AP will look first in the AP/mov folder to play a video. ![]() The videos in 00816.dat til 00822.dat contains all the same video - so they are ideal to be replaced with own videos. In the TC Folder structure under mov (also for an AP installation) the files 00812.dat til 00822.dat contains all different versions of congratulation videos. So I had a look at the several number of congratulation videos. obj files - but this knowledege is lost because the team had broken apart. In the orginal TOTT mod they were able to play some addtional files, but this team also decompiled and modified some. I tested a bit more - and found unfortunately no way to get the video in 00850.dat to be shown. If I had to guess, I would say they are merely used to determine, when the video should be played.
